Pool heat pump price in Belgium in 2026
Heating your pool with a heat pump means extending the swimming season by 4 to 6 months for a fraction of the cost of an electric heater. The price depends above all on the pool volume and the COP of the chosen unit. Here are the real 2026 ranges, supply and installation included.
Indicative ranges, supply + installation. No grant deducted (pool heat pump not subsidised).

What makes the price of your pool heat pump vary
For the same volume, two pool projects can diverge by 30 % depending on the cover, the usage season and the COP of the unit. Here are the six decisive line items.
- Pool volume
The volume (m³) directly determines the required power. A 50 m³ pool without a thermal cover needs a heat pump 2 to 3 times more powerful than a covered pool of the same volume.
- Pool cover
A bubble cover or an automatic roller reduces heat losses by 30 to 50 %. It allows you to choose a less powerful and therefore cheaper heat pump, and to lower the electricity consumption.
- Usage season
Heating from June to August only requires modest power. Extending the season from April to October calls for a more powerful heat pump capable of raising the temperature at 10 – 15 °C ambient.
- COP of the pool heat pump
A COP of 5 means that for 1 kW of electricity consumed, 5 kW of heat are produced. High-end units (COP 6 – 7) cost more to buy but pay back their premium in 2 – 3 seasons.
- Brand and technology
The major brands (Zodiac, Hayward, Elecro, Thermotec) offer ranges from 1 500 to over 6 000 €. Inverter technology continuously adjusts the power and reduces consumption by 20 to 30 %.
- Installation and connections
The installation includes the electrical wiring, the plumbing (by-pass on the filtration circuit) and commissioning. Expect 400 – 800 € for installation depending on the accessibility of the plant room.

Are pool heat pumps subsidised?
Regional grants (Wallonia, Brussels, Flanders) target home heating — they do not cover heat pumps intended exclusively for the pool. Here is what can still be claimed.
6 % VAT if home > 10 years
If the project includes renovation works in the home (heating heat pump, insulation…), the installation of the pool heat pump can be invoiced at 6 % on labour as part of an overall project on a building over 10 years old.
- Main building over 10 years old
- Overall project including other eligible works
- Itemised invoice distinguishing supply and labour
No direct regional grant
The energy grants (Prime Habitation Wallonia, Renolution Brussels, Mijn VerbouwPremie Flanders) are reserved for home heating. A heat pump dedicated to the pool is not eligible. Only a combined project (reversible heating + pool heat pump) can open partial entitlements.

Net price, no nasty surprises, within 48 h
We cost your pool heat pump in detail: supply, installation, connections. And we check whether an overall project opens entitlements to reduced VAT or grants.
- We assess your pool
Volume, existing cover, location of the plant room, target temperature: we size the suitable heat pump.
- We check the VAT
If the home is over 10 years old and the project is overall, we invoice the labour at 6 % and explain the conditions.
- We install it cleanly
By-pass on the filtration circuit, electrical wiring, commissioning: everything is carried out by our certified technicians.
- We hand over the documents
Start-up manual, intervention report and winterising advice to protect your heat pump at the end of the season.
Are you also considering a heat pump for heating your home? Combining the two projects can open entitlements to grants. Discover all heat pump subsidies.

Your questions about the price of a pool heat pump
How much does a pool heat pump cost in 2026?
In Belgium, expect between 1 500 and 2 500 € for a small pool up to 30 m³, between 2 500 and 4 000 € for a pool of 30 to 60 m³, and between 4 000 and 7 000 € for a large pool of 60 to 100 m³. These ranges include supply and installation.
Are there grants for a pool heat pump in Belgium?
No, the regional grants (Wallonia, Brussels, Flanders) target home heating and do not include heat pumps intended exclusively for the pool. A combined project (reversible heat pump for heating the house and the pool) may, however, open partial entitlements — to be examined on a case-by-case basis during the quote.
Does the reduced 6 % VAT apply?
The 6 % VAT on labour is possible if the home is over 10 years old and the pool heat pump is installed as part of an overall project including other eligible works. The supply of the unit remains taxed at 21 %.
What power should I choose for my pool?
The basic rule is about 1 kW of heat output per 10 m³ of volume, with a cover in place. Without a cover or to extend the season to April-October, multiply by 1.5 to 2. A 6 kW heat pump suits a covered 50 m³ pool; expect 10 kW for the same volume without a cover.
What COP can you expect from a pool heat pump?
Pool heat pumps show COPs of 5 to 7 at 25 °C ambient, far higher than electric heaters (COP 1). At the start and end of the season, at 10 – 15 °C, the COP drops to 3 – 4. Inverter models maintain a better COP over a wider temperature range.
Do you have to winterise the pool heat pump?
Yes. When temperatures drop below 5 – 8 °C, the pool heat pump must be decommissioned: draining the hydraulic circuit, antifreeze protection if necessary, standby or removal depending on the model. wendows includes winterising advice in the commissioning.
