The winning duo

Panels + battery: the independence that changes everything

Produce by day, consume by night: without storage, your surplus heads to the grid at a low price. A well-sized battery pushes your self-consumption up — and a single quote is all it takes.

Solar ↔ Battery Panels + battery: the independence that changes everything

Everything to understand before going solar

Installing photovoltaic panels means producing part of your own electricity and taking back control of your bill. On a well-exposed Belgian home, the roof becomes a small power plant working for you on every day of light — and even under cloudy skies, the yield stays real. But a good installation cannot be improvised: it all comes down to sizing and to the share you consume yourself.

The smart move is no longer to sell back to the grid, but to consume as much of what you produce as possible — that is where the real savings are made.

Size it right, rather than going too big

The ideal capacity is not the biggest one possible, but the one that matches your usage. Too small and you stay dependent on the grid; too big and it produces a surplus that is poorly rewarded. Here are the options to consider depending on your profile:

The inverter, the brain of the installation

People often look at the panels, but it is the inverter that turns direct current into usable power and runs the whole system. Central inverter or micro-inverters: the choice depends on the shading on your roof and how the panels are laid out. We explain the concrete impact on your production.

~70%

self-consumption achievable by pairing your panels with a battery and smart control. The more of your own energy you consume, the more profitable the installation.

A wendows adviser helps you weigh up capacity, storage and budget — without needless jargon, just as our one stop shop approach intends.

Do you need a battery?

With the gradual end of the meter that runs backwards and the prosumer tariff, storing your energy makes sense. A home battery lets you use in the evening the electricity produced in the afternoon, instead of feeding it back at a low price. Not everyone needs one: we compare both costed scenarios before deciding.

Grants, VAT and return on investment

Residential installations benefit from reduced 6% VAT for homes more than ten years old, and depending on your region further grants may apply. The return on investment depends above all on your self-consumption.

We handle the paperwork, not you

Connection, declaration and tax benefits: we take care of the file. See an overview of grants by region in our grants & aid section.

And after the installation?

A well-fitted installation is watertight, correctly oriented and connected to standard. Monitoring shows you production day to day, and our after-sales service stays reachable over time for the smallest adjustment.

If you are electrifying your heating too, solar pairs perfectly with a heat pump: you heat with your own energy. Live in a big city? Our solar panels in Brussels, in Liège or in your municipality pages detail local grants and references.

Solar panels FAQ

Your questions about solar

How many panels do I need for my home? +

It all depends on your annual consumption and on the surface and orientation of your roof. For an average Belgian household, an installation of 4 to 6 kWc (roughly 10 to 15 panels) covers a large share of the needs. During the study, we start from your real bills to size it just right — neither too small nor oversized.

Is photovoltaic still worth it in 2026? +

Yes, provided you self-consume well. With the prosumer tariff and the end of the meter that runs backwards, the point is no longer to feed back but to consume your own production. A well-sized installation, possibly paired with a battery, stays profitable over the lifetime of the panels. We show you the calculation, without exaggerated promises.

Do I need a battery? +

Not necessarily. A battery increases your self-consumption — and therefore your independence from the grid — but represents an additional investment. It makes the most sense if you consume little during the day or are aiming for independence. We compare both costed scenarios so we can decide together.

What grants and VAT apply to solar? +

Residential photovoltaic installations benefit from reduced 6% VAT for homes more than ten years old. Depending on your region, specific grants or tariffs may apply. We put the administrative file together and apply the benefits you are entitled to.

What happens to my surplus production? +

Any surplus you do not consume is fed back to the grid. Depending on your region and your meter, it is valued differently — that is the prosumer tariff mechanism. To make the most of it, we aim to maximise self-consumption, with a battery or smart control if needed.

What warranty and what lifespan? +

Panels keep most of their yield for 25 years and beyond, with a product warranty and a production warranty from the manufacturer. The inverter, an electronic part, is generally replaced once over the lifetime of the installation. Our after-sales service is based in Belgium: a single point of contact over time.
