On the exterior, yes: powder-coated aluminium needs only a rinse with water. Inside, the wood can be refreshed (stain or paint) over the years, but this is optional and far simpler than on an exposed façade.
The extra cost comes from the dual shell (wood frame + aluminium cladding), the bespoke manufacturing and the powder coating. It is the price of durable comfort: no exterior maintenance to redo for decades.
Pine and meranti are the most common, with a good quality/price ratio. Oak offers the noblest grain and the best durability. We advise on the species according to the look you want and your budget.
