The Brussels-Capital Region funds part of your window replacement through the Renolution grants. The amount depends on your income category: from 40 €/m² for high incomes up to more than double for low incomes. Window grant Brussels by income category
The amounts below apply to the replacement of glazed exterior joinery (windows, French doors, roof windows) in a Brussels home over 10 years old. The calculation is made in € per m² of window area replaced.

What determines your Renolution grant
Four criteria determine the amount you can obtain for your Brussels windows. We check each of them before submitting your application.
- Age of the home
The home must be more than 10 years old. For recent properties, other schemes may apply — ask us for an analysis.
- Income category (A, B or C)
Your category is determined by the household’s taxable net income. Cat. C (low incomes) qualifies for the highest amounts.
- Glazing performance
The installed glazing must meet a thermal performance threshold (Ug ≤ 1.1 W/m²K for high-efficiency double or triple glazing). The manufacturer’s technical data sheet is the reference.

The work must be carried out by a registered contractor and the invoice must be itemised (product references, area, labour). wendows meets these conditions.
- Submission deadline

Renolution: the Brussels grant for your windows
Renolution is the Brussels-Capital Region’s unified programme for energy renovations. It replaces the former Energy grants and simplifies the process into a single counter — we handle everything for you.
Renolution grant — Cat. A (high incomes)
For high-income households, the grant covers 40 € per m² of window replaced, raised to 50 €/m² if a prior energy audit has been carried out.
- Home over 10 years old in the Brussels Region
- Glazing Ug ≤ 1.1 W/m²K (high-efficiency double or triple)

Renolution grant — Cat. B (middle incomes)
Middle-income households benefit from an increased amount of 60 €/m² (75 €/m² with audit), i.e. 50% more than Cat. A.
- Same technical conditions as Cat. A
- Category determined by the household’s taxable net income
- Can be combined with 6% VAT on renovation
Renolution grant — Cat. C (low incomes)
The most advantageous category: 80 €/m² base, raised to 100 €/m² with audit, i.e. up to double the Cat. A amount. A 6-window flat can receive up to 1 600 € in grants.

What is the Renolution grant for windows?
Renolution is the Brussels-Capital Region’s unified programme that subsidises energy renovation works, including the replacement of windows and French doors. It replaces the former Energy grants. The amount is calculated in € per m² of window replaced and varies according to your income category: 40 €/m² (Cat. A), 60 €/m² (Cat. B) or 80 €/m² (Cat. C).
How do I know my income category (A, B or C)?
The category is determined by the household’s taxable net income shown on the latest tax assessment notice. The thresholds are published annually by Brussels Environment. During the free quote, we check your category and calculate the exact amount you are entitled to.
Is my home eligible for the Brussels grant?
The home must be located in the Brussels-Capital Region and have been built more than 10 years ago. Flats, houses and also mixed-use buildings (if the residential part is concerned) are eligible. The home must be occupied as a main residence or rented out.
Is the Renolution grant combined with 6% VAT?
Yes. The reduced 6% VAT (instead of 21%) applies to renovation works in homes over 10 years old, independently of the Renolution grant. The two benefits combine and are automatically included in our quote.
Within what deadline must I submit my application after the work?
The Renolution grant application must generally be submitted within 12 months of the date of the last invoice. After this deadline, the grant is lost. At wendows, we manage the schedule and submit the application on time — without you having to worry about it.
Is an energy audit mandatory for the Renolution grant?
The audit is not mandatory to obtain the base grant. However, having a prior energy audit carried out by an accredited auditor unlocks access to the increased amounts (50, 75 or 100 €/m² depending on the category). We can refer you to a partner auditor if this optimises your application.
