Solar panel price per kWp and per m² in Belgium 2026
Before pricing a full installation, understand the unit cost of the panel itself: €/Wp, €/kWp and €/m² depending on the type of cell. Concrete benchmarks to evaluate a quote and identify the technology suited to your roof.
Indicative ranges for installed panel, grants not deducted.
Solar panel prices by type: €/Wp, €/kWp and €/m²
Ranges for an installed panel, cabling and micro-inverter or string included. Prices are for a standard residential installation (6–12 panels, pitched roof with no obstacles). Labour represents about 25–30% of the total.

What makes the cost per kWp of your panels vary
Two installations of identical power can show very different unit costs. Here are the items that really weigh on the €/Wp.
- Cell technology
PERC, TOPCon, HJT or bifacial: each generation improves efficiency but increases the cost per watt. A TOPCon panel costs 30–40% more than an equivalent PERC of the same power.
- Peak power & format
Large modules (420–440 Wp) are often cheaper per Wp than small formats. They do, however, require a suitable roof and sturdier rails.
- Type of inverter
String inverter, micro-inverters or optimisers: micro-inverters add 0,10–0,20 €/Wp but maximise output on partially shaded roofs.
Inverters & equipment → - Installation & fixings
Slate, flat-tile or steel-deck roof: the fixing system and the complexity of installation vary greatly. A roof without windows or dormers reduces the labour cost.
- Pitch & orientation
A due-south roof at 35° is ideal; an east-west or flat roof requires tilted structures that increase the cost per kWp by 5–15%.
- Brand & warranties
Tier-one panels (25-year product and performance warranty) cost 10–20% more than unbranded equivalents. The cost over the lifespan often remains favourable.

The grants that reduce your real cost per kWp
The gross cost per kWp is only part of the equation: regional and tax grants noticeably lower the net cost. Here are the 2026 benchmarks.
Prime Habitation — solar panels
The grant for a photovoltaic installation is scaled by the installed power and the applicant’s income category.
- Certified panels and QUALIVOC-accredited installer
- Minimum power 2 kWp for main residences
- Application submitted within 18 months of the invoice
Brussels Environment grants
Brussels Environment grants a subsidy for residential PV installation, calculated per installed kWp band and increased for low-income households.
- Installation by a registered contractor
- Home over 10 years old
- Panels with a performance certification

Forms, technical sheets, certificates: we take care of everything.
- We deduct where possible
The grant is subtracted from your invoice; otherwise you receive it after the works.

Your questions about the cost per kWp of solar panels
What is the average price of an installed solar panel in Belgium in 2026?
A standard 425 Wp mono panel installed comes to about 0,80–1,20 €/Wp, i.e. 340–510 € per panel all-in (equipment + labour). A premium TOPCon or HJT panel sits between 1,20 and 1,60 €/Wp. These are indicative ranges, grants not deducted.
What is the difference between €/Wp and €/kWp?
1 kWp = 1 000 Wp. A 400 Wp panel at 1 €/Wp therefore costs 400 €; a 4 kWp installation at 1 €/Wp costs 4 000 €. The €/kWp lets you compare installations of different power on a common basis.
How much does a bifacial solar panel cost?
A bifacial panel sits between 1,00 and 1,40 €/Wp installed. It captures light from both faces and can produce 5–15% more on a light-coloured roof or a terrace. Its premium over the standard mono is about 15–25%.
Does the price per kWp vary with the power of the installation?
Yes: the more powerful the installation, the lower the cost per kWp thanks to economies of scale on labour and equipment. A 10 kWp installation is generally 10–15% cheaper per kWp than a 3 kWp installation.
Are the grants deducted from the invoice?
When possible, we put together the file and deduct the grant directly from your invoice, with no cash advance. Otherwise you receive it after the works. In both cases, the quote shows the estimated grant amount and the 6% VAT.
How long to pay back solar panels in Belgium?
With 2026 electricity prices and regional grants, the return on investment generally sits between 5 and 7 years for a well-oriented residential installation. The panels’ performance warranty covers 25 years, offering 18–20 years of near-free output after payback.
